In 2006 a study by Scottish & Canadian researchers concluded that a 135° sitting position puts least pressure on the spine.
Coffy went from prototype to product over the course of a year. Each prototype was tested by numerous friends and family members of all ages and body types. Often for hours, during movie nights at Sascha’s then showroom in the city of Hamburg’s Speicherstadt district.
Your feet are comfortably up but just so much that they are still below you heart. So they will not fall asleep.
Sascha could not yet know about the aforementioned study when he designed Coffy but surprisingly, or maybe not, one of the four positions Coffy is adjustable to is 135°.
The result is one of the most comfortable pieces of furniture you will ever lounge on.
Coffy is named after a famous early 1970’s blaxploitation heroine.
